Details of the Initiative

Pallet is a student volunteer group authorized by Meiji University.

Table For Two in the title means “a table for two people” and is an activity aimed at improving the health of people around the world by simultaneously solving problems such as hunger and malnutrition in developing countries and problems such as obesity and lifestyle-related diseases in developed countries.

With the help of the university cafeteria, Pallet worked on this activity by creating healthy and attractive menus for students and donating a portion of the proceeds to developing countries.

Based on the results of a survey conducted in Pallet, we had in-depth discussions with the cafeteria staff about what ingredients and seasonings students are interested in and how we can provide them at a low cost and with low calories. We put a lot of effort into publicity activities such as making posters and calling out to the public. As a result, we were able to sell more than 700 meals.

Since this is an activity that you can participate in just by eating at the cafeteria, we think that students who are not familiar with volunteering or international support can easily cooperate.

Although we were unable to carry out this activity in AY2020 due to COVID-19, we would like to continue this kind of activity in the future.
