Details of the Initiative

In my professional seminar, students plan projects related to the SDGs and present them at the Academic Festival (research presentation event on campus) and other venues. Looking back at society through the filter of the SDGs is an opportunity to discover the problems of international law in our surroundings. Obtaining the SDGs perspective also leads to considering problems related to international law with new perspectives. Creating and transmitting plans by ourselves is also effective in improving our group activities and output skills.

At the Academic Festival in 2018, we presented a roadmap for resolving water resource problems between Syria and its neighboring countries with support from developed countries, looking ahead to the end of the Syrian civil war. In 2019, we presented two projects. The Future of Companies from the SDGs Perspective project aims to evaluate corporate activities from the SDGs perspective and transmit information to students. We interviewed companies in the preparation stage. Studying International Law through Movies aims to tell the importance of analyzing social problems based on accurate knowledge of international law, from the perspectives of education and the SDGs. The students gave lectures analyzing Hollywood movies, etc. from the perspective of international law in a class for second-year students as well as at the Academic Festival.
